Student Demographics

The International Charter School represents the diverse communities of Rhode Island.

While the majority of our students live in Pawtucket, Central Falls and Providence, we are a statewide school and currently enroll students who live in twelve different Rhode Island Communities.

Fifteen percent of our students were born outside the United States, including Bolivia, Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Ivory Coast, the Phillipines, Portugal, and Puerto Rico.

Fifty one percent of our students arrive at ICS dominant in Portuguese or Spanish, 49% dominant in English.

Fifty-four percent of our student qualify for free or reduced price meals.

Fifty percent of our students are Latino, 28% White, 20% African American, 1% Asian and 1% Native American.

Fifteen percent of our students have Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
